This anime has altogether 22 episodes:
Season 1 (Hakuoki: Shinsengumi Kitan) 12 episodes
Season 2 (Hakuouki: Hekketsuroku) 10 episodes

Chizuru Yukimura heads to Kyoto to search for her father. While there, she witnesses a fight between Rasetsu and members of the Shinsengumi. The Shinsengumi take her into custody and, once learning she is the daughter of the doctor they are searching for, decide to keep her close at hand. Chizuru follows the Shinsengumi in their battles to help the shogunate.

Here's a little historical background about Shinsengumi:

The Shinsengumi (newly selected corps) were a special police force of the late shogunate period.

Historical background
After Japan opened up to the West following U.S. Commodore Matthew Perr's  visits in 1853, its political situation gradually became more and more chaotic. The country was divided along various lines of political opinion; one of these schools of thought (which had existed prior to Perry's arrival) was sonno joi: "Revere the Emperor, Expel the Barbarians." Loyalists to the Emperor of Japan  began to commit acts of murder and violence in Kyoto, the imperial capital. In 1863, responding to this trend, the Tokugawa Shogunate formed the Roshigumi, a group of 234 masterless samurai (ronin), under the nominal command of the hatamoto Matsudaira Tadatoshi  and the actual leadership of Kiyokawa Hachiro (a dynamic rōnin from Shonai Domain). The group's formal mission was to act as the protectors of Tokugawa Iemochi,  the 14th shogun,  who was preparing to embark on a trip to Kyoto.

Historical facts
The Rōshigumi was funded by the Tokugawa regime. However, Kiyokawa Hachirō's goal, which he revealed following the group's arrival in Kyoto, was to gather rōnin to work with the supporters of the emperor. In response, thirteen members of the Rōshigumi became the thirteen founding members of the Shinsengumi. Other members loyal to the Tokugawa government returned to Edo and formed the Shinchōgumi 新徴組, which came under the patronage of the Shonai domain.

This anime is one of the saddest anime I've ever seen. I really cried a lot. Yet, However sad this story is, I really recommend you to go and watch it. You will not be disappointed ^^

What does it meant to be a true warrior? A true warrior is those who sacrifices himself, even his life, in order to protect his country and loves ones. We can see true warriors in the Shinsengumi clans.
No matter what obstacles lies ahead and whomever the enemies are, they never admit defeats and continues to fight for what they believes in.

In one episode, Chizuru said that "Even if the time of warriors has come to an end, what's most important is that the warrior's spirit remains unchanged.
Their swords are not swords that kill but save people. We also learn that strong does not mean body but spirit and emotional.

This anime also plays with these theme; loves, hate, conflict of principal between the characters, and confusion within oneself in determining what to believes in.
With interesting story lines and so many handsome guys, this anime is one of the "must-watch anime"

Detective Conan -funny scene-

Gakuen Babysitters

Ohayo minna ^^

Are you familiar with the manga Gakuen Babysitters? For those who yet to read this manga, I highly recommend for you guyz to start reading this heartwarming story.

Gakuen Babysitters tells the story of Ryuuichi (dragon) and his little brother Kotarou (tiger). When their parents died in a plane crash, a rich old woman who shares the same fate (her son and daughter-in-law also died in that crash) offered to become their guardian. Thus, start their life in the new place they move into. Oba-san (the old woman) is the principal of the new school Ryuuichi transfer to and in return for taking of them, Ryuuichi is asked to spend all his time working as the school's babysitter.  Besides Ryuuichi and Kotarou, we are introduced to the children (of the school's teachers and students) in this babysitting club. They are the energetic and a bit naughty, Kamitani Taka, the twins Takuma (elder) and Kazuma (lil' brother), Kirin (a girl but acts like an adult), and the baby girl Midori. Besides the children, there are also Usaida Yoshihito, the only staff in the babysitting club (he's lazy and most of his time in the club are spend on sleeping-one of the funny character), Kamitani Hayato who is Taka older brother (he likes to smack Taka's head when scolding him, and the parents of the children. It is really unfortunate that this manga is not adapted into an anime :P

This manga is really funny and in another episodes, there are sad parts too. It is really sweet to see the close bonding between Ryuuichi and Kotarou; how they complete and need each other. Sometimes, instead of the younger brother needing the eldest, it seems that Ryuuichi is the one needing his lil' brother the most.

Kotarou squeezing lemon to prepare medicine for Ryuiichi  and his satisfying face when succeeded in doing so. He sooo kawaii ^^

Grand Slam -comento-

Hi minna. How are u guyz 2day? Genki?
So, what do u guyz think bout the Grand Slam song? Like it? FYI, Yuki Kaida is the seiyuu/voice of the character Fuji Syusuke.
Wow, Fuji is so cool in this song ^^

In the early episodes, we know Fuji as someone who never shows 100% of his ability and skills in any games he plays. He likes to play according to the opponents' ability and the cool part is, he still wins greatly. In one episode, Chitose from Shitenhoji said to Shiraishi that, even though Tezuka is a top player, Fuji is more terrifying and needs to be careful with because, unlike Tezuka who puts 100% efforts in the game, for Fuji, we will never know what his true power is; there's always something more up his sleeves. In short, he is someone who can't be predicted. In other episode, Fuji himself said that, for him, tennis is just a plaything. He never put himself to be serious with the games and he is not someone who greatly yearn for victory.

However, this change when Fuji faces his first defeat to Tezuka. That is the first time that Fuji yearn for winning so much. From then onwards, we, audience, are introduced to the new part of Fuji Syusuke; someone who yearn for championship and never wanted to face defeat again. In order to prepare himself for the national tournament where the opponents will be much more stronger than before, he trained hard to improve himself and upgrade his skills.

This song tells about Fuji's struggle to the top, to achieve his dreams and goals. Ganbatte Fuji ^^

Grand Slam by Fuji_lyric

lyrics: Yuki Kaida
music: Takeshi Konomi
arrangement: Nobuhiro Makino
vocal: Yuki Kaida

One gift I received on the day that I came to life
Do I not know? How can I ignore what I was meant to become?

One goal I pursue all the way till I find it clear
Through a storm, there'll be the sunlight on the road to Grand Slam

Take a chance That's the only way
People may all say "It's just a fancy dream"
No one can gets on my way

To seek what is for sure
To touch what is for real
To reach what is for good
That's how I face my destination

One fate I must accept What's to pay to make a new legend?
Through the night, a day'll be dawning on the road to Grand Slam

Make a vow, and devote my days
Let the people say, "he's so ambitious"
Go ahead and make my day

To seek what is for sure
To touch what is for real
To reach what is for good
That's how I face my destination

To find what is for sure
What a grace to get me going
To feel the life so real
That's the road to bring me higher

To seek what is for sure
To touch what is for real
To reach what is for good
That's how I face my destination

To find what is for sure
What a grace to get me going
To feel the life so real
That's the road to bring me higher

Prince of Tennis -1st Comento-

Even after so many times watching this anime, I never got tired of it. On the other hand, I felt closer to the characters and understand more about them. Not only I was able to learn about tennis, I also learn several values and adapting them in my life. Each character has his own characteristics and uniqueness. e.g. Tezuka with his strictness and smart leadership, Ryoma with his cockiness and confidence, Fuji with his smiling face (but beware! behind that smiling face lies something evil  :p )

Whats not to like bout them? Whether those from Seigaku or the opponents' team, no matter what background or difference they have, whats important is the sport spirit and the will to win. From this anime, I learn that we, human, are able to do even things that people see impossible, but with perseverance, hard work, and strong spirit, we could conquer and accomplish anything. In the early episodes, Ryoma had a match with Inui to steal the regular spot. Logically, the winner should be Inui because as the "data tennis master", he had all Ryoma's strengths and weaknesses in the back of his head, making the possibility for Inui to win higher. But, at the end, Ryoma win. Why? This is because people has the ability to change and improve for the bettter. With training and strong will, we could surpass our limit and turn the impossible to possible.

When I watched the characters struggle and work hard to achieve their dreams, I become more spirited - if they can, why could I not? Never give up minna!

Last but not least, to me, Prince of Tennis is a must-watch anime coz it plays with our emotions; happy, funny, sad, angry, etc. It feels like I'm there with them in the game, having fun together; as if I know them for a long time. Oh, how I miss Fuji, Tezuka, Atobe, and all of them so much ^^

To those who yet to watch this anime, what are you waiting for? Watch it now!
